The Norfolk and South Lincs. Casting Club are hosting their Casting Festival on Sunday 31st August and Skegness Pier Angling Club members have been invited to take part in an inter-club casting competition with the North Norfolk Angling Club during the event. Additionally club members will be casting for the Vanguard Shield.
The Tournament will start at 10:00 with the interclub competition decided by the total top distances of equal amounts of casters from both clubs added together. To enter the casting competition please contact Russ Parsons Chas or reply going on this invite. Admission to the casting match is £15.
The casting festival is being held at Fen Field, Frogs Abbey Gate, Holbech Fen, Lincolnshire, PE12 8QJ. ( What Three Words location is Flocking, Dreams Upcoming).
Rules for casters are:
- No Braid, Tapered Leaders or lines.
- Leads used must be UK Hooks or DCA Casting Leads which are available on the day for £1.50 each.
- Leaders must be Hi-Viz and a minimum of 70lb Breaking Strain. A free Leader will be supplied on the day for the casters.
- A Suitable link must be used to attach the lead with a minimum breaking strain of 70lb, the same as the leader.
Hot Dogs will be provided on the day with a small donation to cover costs.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday and hopefully it will become a regular event to improve our casting skills and promote casting between the clubs.
