Long Shop Lights #1 with DJ Ben Osborne and VJ Girl In A T-Shirt, Street Food, Horse Box Bar, Children's Ride, Workshop Activities, Projections, Vinyl Record Shop, Lights and Music.
A night of music and projections on the Long Shop's iconic "cathedral' walls, with DJ and musician Ben Osborne and VJ and visual artist Alice Stallard.
Featuring soul and funk music and images from Super Fly, the first project to explore the role of USAF bases in Suffolk in bringing American black music into the UK. There will be an all-ages workshop, Clouds Burst When I See You Smile, supported by Norfolk and Norwich festival, a children's ride, pop-up vinyl record stall, street food and a horse box bar.
Music and imagery will include Long Shop archive photographs, exclusive footage of Leee John of Imagination performing live at Woodbridge Festival, Tide Mill Out (an AV work created out of the sounds and mechanics of a 700 year old Tide Mill), live projections and vinyl DJ sets.
Known by the workers as "the cathedral", the Long Shop was the worlds first flow line factory - pre-dating the time management assembly lines of Taylor and Ford in America. On Saturday 21 February this iconic building will be projection mapped for the first time. This is the debut in a series of AV nights run by Noise of Art and Woodbridge Festival at the Long Shop, including bespoke events creating pieces inspired directly by the museum collection.
