Talk Up - The Kings Speech

Fancy getting involved at Southport Little theatre?
See yourself on the stage? Selling tickets at the box office? Helping out front of house? or prefer the darkened backstage?

We are always looking for new members to join us and the show talk ups are a fantastic opportunity to get to meet people and learn a bit more about upcoming shows.

Talk ups are for the directors to promote their show, give an overview of the play, their vision and the characters, all in preparation for the auditions. Auditions for the Kings Speech will be on Tuesday 15th July.

Next we have The Kings Speech, Based on the academy award winning 2010 film, this is the story of how King George VI, thrust unexpectedly into the role of monarch, overcame his fear of public speaking with the help of Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue. Seidler initially researched the play in the 1970s, but it was the wish of The Queen Mother that the story remain untold until after her passing. This is an inspirational tale that offers a slice of history as well as inspiration for now.
