It’s that time of year again — our Annual General Meeting is coming up!

This is your chance to get involved, have your say, and help shape the future of the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club.

We’re looking for fresh faces to join our committee — people who love fishing, community, and teamwork. Whether you’ve been around for years or are new to the club, we’d love your input, energy, and ideas.

Committee & Support Roles Available
Here’s a snapshot of the positions open for nomination this year:

Executive Roles

President – Leads the club, chairs meetings, and sets the direction for the year ahead

Vice President – Supports the President and assists across all club operations

Secretary – Manages correspondence, meeting notes, and communication

Treasurer – Handles finances, reporting, and budgeting

General Committee Roles

General Committee Member (Minimum 2, Maximum 7) – Helps across events and club nights

Key Support Roles

Sponsorship Officer – Works with our sponsors, manages relationships, coordinates event activations, and supports sponsor visibility at tournaments and club nights

Games Master (Inshore & Offshore) – Oversees competitions, scoring, and rules for club events; ensures fair play and fun for all anglers throughout the year

Membership Officer – Welcomes new members, manages renewals, and helps grow and engage our club community

Monthly Commitment
Committee members meet once a month (usually the first Thursday) to plan events, discuss ideas, and keep the club running smoothly.

There are also opportunities to lend a hand at club nights (the second Thursday of each month), comps, and social events throughout the year.

What You’ll Need

Must be a current financial member of the club

A positive, proactive attitude

Willingness to contribute ideas and support events
