Somatic Writing for Autumn & The High Holy Days — MaTovu

MaTovu is excited to partner with Somatic Writing Facilitator Jennifer Campolo to hold a series of (3) workshops (September 15, September 29, and October 13). that will explore themes related to Autumn and the High Holy Days, as well as how we reflect upon these experiences as Jews and non-Jews. These Somatic Writing evenings will guide participants in exploring some of these themes, weaving together poems, guided somatic meditations, and time for personal reflective writing or drawing. Session #1: Monday, September 15, 6:00- 8:00 PM

Autumn invites us to move from summer’s flowering to the ripening of our inner world. If we’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, we can lose touch with the strength and possibilities that are growing inside us. We will open our group with two poems to uplift and center us in love and gratitude as we turn inward. You’ll be guided through some self-directed touch for the ears and eyes, helping these hard-working sensory organs relax, and we’ll do a gentle seated somatic practice to support our Midline, the body’s energetic core. In writing or drawing, we’ll express what we find calling for attention in our body, heart, or mind, and connect with our power to choose how to meet the moment. We will be recording the guided practices and prompts. Everyone who registers will receive the materials and recordings, even if you can’t attend live.

Cost: Each meeting is on a sliding scale of $15 - $35. Please pay Jennifer directly via Venmo at @ncwriting or another method listed on her site. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. You can pay at the door if you are coming in person.
