Thunderthumbs

Join us for the evening to celebrate the great 70’s/80’s Soul and Funk songs from George Benson, Quincy Jones, George Duke, Michael Jackson, Jeffrey Osborne, The Brothers Johnson and more.

“Thunderthumbs” the 10-piece band led by top UK Session bassist Phil Mulford plays the hits and more in an evening of the funky bass lines that the great US bassist Louis Johnson played on. Come on down for an evening of great songs and funky grooves. The set-list includes cuts from throughout Louis’ career from his time with Billy Preston in 1972 through to The Brothers Johnson and the Quincy Jones produced hits he played on, songs like George Benson’s Love X Love, Quincy Jones tracks ‘The Dude’, ‘Ai No Corrida’, Michael MacDonald’s ‘I Keep Forgettin’ and his own group The Brothers Johnson’s ‘Strawberry Letter 23’, ‘Stomp’ as well as a whole host of funky instrumentals.
