Formed in Brighton in 1985, The 14 Iced Bears quickly became a key part of the C86 movement, often credited with shaping indiepop. Early singles caught the ear of BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, leading to two Peel Sessions.
The band released their self-titled debut LP in 1988 on the influential Sarah Records label. After touring with legends like Julian Cope and The Velvet Underground, they released their second album, 'Wonder,' in 1991.
Following a hiatus, the Bears reformed in 2010 for a US tour and again in 2024 after a feature in Shindig! magazine sparked renewed interest. They've since played enthusiastically received shows, both headlining and supporting bands like The Vaselines and Miki Berenyi.
With support from Laughing Stock (Rich Chapman and Matt Battles.)
And Luke and The Maple Band (Luke and Matt Randall)
Unbelievably, it's Free Entry with a whip round for the bands.
