We are hosting a max push/pull event for first-timers and novice lifters. This will give people who either have no or little competition experience a chance gain some confidence before taking on more all-around comps.
Athletes will start with the allocated opener before then choosing the weight for their next 3 lifts on Log press and Axle Deadlift.
There will be Men's & Women's category A & category B. Category A is for lifters with none or 1 competition under their belt. Category B is for novice lifters with slightly more experience.
The allocated starting weights are as follows
Women A (first timers/1 comp xp)
Log - 30kg
Deadlift - 70kg
Women B (novice)
Log - 40kg
Deadlift 100kg
Men A - (first timers/1 comp xp)
Log - 50kg
Deadlift - 140kg
Mens B - (novice)
Log - 60kg
Deadlift - 160kg
Rules:
Log press will be from drop pads. Women will use 9inch Log, men will use 13 inch Log. Log must pressed above head with elbows and knees locked out, and held until given the down signal. Failure to receive a down signal will result in a no lift. You can not increase the weight without a successful lift, no going down weight. Ref has final say. Knee and elbow sleeves, belts, wrist wraps, chalk and grip tops all allowed.
Axle deadlift from the floor with standard size plates. Hips and knees must be locked out at the top of the lift, and held until the down signal is given. Thumbs must be in contact with the bar the whole time. You can not increase the weight without a successful lift, no going down weight either. Ref has final say. Figure 6/8 straps, sleeves, belt, chalk allowed
No suits or briefs, no hook straps.
Both of your highest successful lifts will be added together to get
your total, medals for top 3 in each category.
There are only 10 spaces per category, get signed up before the spaces go.
