About the event
Anda Union
Ancient traditions. Modern energy. Discover the soul of Mongolia.
Anda Union celebrates 20 years of electrifying music. Born in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, this powerhouse ensemble blends long-song, throat singing, and wild strings on horse-head fiddles, flutes, and lutes. Their sound is raw, rich, and unforgettable, evoking the vast grasslands and rhythms of horseback life.
Their name, ‘Anda’ (‘blood brother’), speaks to their deep bond and mission: keeping Mongolia’s endangered heritage alive.
Anda Union recently won China’s hit show ‘The Big Band’, thrilling millions by singing in their native tongue. They’ve sold out tours across North America and lit up global festivals like WOMAD and Celtic Connections.
Now, they return to the UK for the first time in seven years – before joining the Boston Symphony Orchestra for Lunar New Year celebrations.
From the Steppe to the world stage, Anda Union delivers a musical journey like no other. Ancient. Fierce. Alive.
