NEW 4 Week Course - Advanced - Thrown Teapot – Sundays 12– 2 £80
Show off your skills to make a teapot.
The perfect test of your throwing skills - a lidded and shaped body spout and handle. You must be able to centre clay and make lidded jars to undertake this course. Don't worry if you haven't thrown a spout.
In week 1 we will look at teapot design - form over function or function over form? you'll also throw some test elements.
In week 2 you'll make your body and lid. Make 2 if you have time!.
In week 3 you will turn your lid adding a knob and turn your body if also required. You'll also make and add your spout and handle.
In week 4 If you need to add your spout and handle it can be done at this stage and it's over to slip decoration.
This course includes slip decoration. If you prefer a glaze finish you can add an optional 5th week (£20) to glaze your teapot/s. A range of Amaco and Mayco glazes are available to purchase from the studio gallery or you can use your own glazes.

Transparent glazing and firing of up to 2 teapots
Amaco and Mayco glazes are available to purchase in the gallery shop
2 hours studio time each session. Clean up takes around 20 minutes so plan this in your timings.
