Hosted by one of Planet Fungi’s authors – leading Australian fungi expert Dr Tom May – this special event is a unique opportunity to learn more about the wonders of the fungal kingdom. You will enjoy an evening of drinks and canapes; hear about the importance of this bizarre and beautiful part of our natural world; and have your questions about fungi answered at this exclusive in-person event.

Planet Fungi is filled with incredible macro-photography from internationally renowned fungi photographer Stephen Axford, whose work with partner and filmmaker Catherin Marciniak has resulted in the documentary Follow the Rain and features in Planet Earth 2, Green Planet and more.

Dr Tom May has been a mycologist at Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria for three decades. He has a distinguished research career and a passion for communicating and educating about fungi. Former President of Fungimap, he co-authored FunKey and Wild Mushrooming: A Guide for Foragers. Tom is a Fellow of the International Mycological Association and his contributions, spanning science and citizen science, have been recognised by award of the Nancy T. Burbidge Medal and the Australian Natural History Medallion.
