Bread & Puppet Short Films w/ Live Chapbook Readings

BALE's Summer of Bread + Puppet Art continues on July 22nd 6:30-9:30pm with an evening of short films by Jerome Lipani, the filmmaker and curatrix will be in attendance for Q&A. Come enjoy live chapbook readings, bread + aïoli and cool drinks will be served.

Jerome Lipani is a multi-media artist - pianist, actor, director, painter, writer, filmmaker - who began his career in the late 60’s devoted to the use of the arts as an instrument for effective non-violent protest, especially against war and environmental degradation. He first met Peter Schumann back in 1965 as an intern in the Bread and Puppet Harlem Workshop. Since 2013, he has been a filmmaker with a major focus on Bread and Puppet and environmental action in Vermont through public access TV (Onion River Community Access) in Montpelier and Hardwick. Over 100 of his filmed documentaries of Bread and Puppet performances and exhibitions with B&P Curatrix Alexis Smith can be seen at Jerome Lipani - YouTube and are archived by cctv in Burlington.
