Join us for the second edition of Burden of Proof book club—a casual, welcoming space to sip, snack, and talk books!

We’ll be reading and discussing by poet and essayist Cathy Park Hong. Blending memoir, cultural criticism, and history, the book unpacks the dissonance of growing up Asian American in a country steeped in contradiction. Hong’s theory of “minor feelings” — emotions shaped by the gap between American optimism and racialized reality — anchors a series of sharp, intimate essays. Through her own story, she explores language, shame, art, and identity in a powerful reckoning with what it means to see clearly in a society built on denial.
