You are invited to join FREE WILDLIFE ART WORKSHOPS at the Vincentia Connections Community Hub on Tuesday afternoons 3pm - 4pm from 5 August to 21 October.
The workshops are supported by the Country Arts Support Program (CASP).
Workshop participants have the opportunity to exhibit their work in the inaugural Vincentia FOMA (Festival of Music and Art) to be held in the Vincentia Village Shopping Centre on the weekend of 25 & 26 October 2025.

Week 1
Tue 5 Aug
Conceptual development Narrative writing
Participants will develop a wildlife character and story expressing personal interests, concerns and/or experiences with a local published author.
Week 2
Tue 12 Aug
Artmaking development Wildlife illustration
Participants will illustrate their character and setting for their wildlife story using drawing and painting materials with a local published author.
Week 3
Tue 19 Aug
Artmaking development Eucalyptus leaf painting
Participants will create a colourful leaf painting in acrylics on paper employing negative space techniques with an experienced local artist and educator.
Week 4
Tue 26 Aug
Artmaking development Eucalyptus leaf painting - Leaf painting continued There is potential for a diptych or series of works. Mounting works on paper could be included.
Week 5
Tue 2 Sep
Artmaking development Aboriginal wildlife painting
Participants will design and paint wildlife on canvas using Aboriginal decorative designs with an experienced local Aboriginal artist and educator
Week 6
Tue 9 Sep
Artmaking development Artists' books
By now inspired artists, participants will use "scrap paper", found materials & simple techniques to make unique book structures with "pages" and a "cover" with an experienced textile artist.
Week 7
Tue 16 Sep
Conceptual development Artist Intention
Excited artists will choose their own materials & local wildlife subjects to sketch 2D artwork ideas, assisted by an experienced local artist and educator. There will be guidance on writing a project proposal for the Community Connect Days exhibition.
Week 8

Artmaking development Leaf artmaking
The task is to collect different leaf types and create rubbings and silhouettes using mixed media for collage with an experienced local artist and educator.
Week 9

Artmaking development Mark making
Today you’ll find your inner child by exploring experimental mark-making and drawing/painting native wildlife with an experienced local artist.
Week 10

Artmaking development Experimenting
Time for further experimentation and play within the theme of native wildlife.

Artmaking development Painting wildlife run by Vanessa
Today’s workshop is given over to designing and painting local wildlife of choice on canvas using a variety of paint media guided by an experienced local artist and educator.

Artmaking & Conceptual development Painting wildlife – continued (finishers prep all their works for the exhibition – discuss curating the show).
