Story Wars at the Food Truck Park!
Stop second-guessing yourself and start creating! Story Wars is Cleveland’s home for spontaneous creativity. This is a fast-paced, high-energy storytelling showdown where everyone is invited to create, perform, and cheer each other on. Whether you're a seasoned writer or just here for the fun, this event is all about letting go of overthinking and diving into pure, unfiltered creativity.
A food truck will be on site and libations will be available for purchase.
Just want to be part of the crowd? You’re welcome to come and simply watch, laugh, and cheer everyone on. You don’t need to create anything to participate and enjoy the energy—Story Wars is as much about the community as it is the creativity.
Here’s how it works:
- At the start of each round, a prompt is randomly drawn from the BIG Jar of Prompts.
- You get 5 minutes to write a story, choreograph a dance, compose a song. Whatever form of creativity feels right to you!
- Then it’s showtime! Perform your piece for the audience and let the votes roll in.
Two ways to win each round:
- Overall Winner – The performer with the most total votes of the night earns the crown (and a prize)!
- Superlative Winner – Each round features a fun prompt-specific award, like “Coming in Hot!” for 'best opening line'.
Story Wars was created to break through writer’s block and self-doubt. Where spontaneity meets creativity. It’s fast. It’s fun. And it’s for everyone. So whether you're telling your tale, dancing it out, or just soaking it all in with snacks from your favorite food truck, come be part of a growing community of curious, courageous, and creative humans.
