The China Historical Society is proud to present “Made in China,” a group art exhibition showcasing the work of artists who live in China, Maine – or whose work reflects the spirit, beauty, and stories of the town.
Held at the barn, at 16 Jones Road, in South China, the exhibit opens with a public reception on Thursday, August 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition will also be open to visitors on Saturday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Made in China” features a wide range of artistic media – including painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and more. It invites the community to come together to celebrate the town’s vibrant artistic talent and rich local identity.
“This is a show about our place — our people, our landscapes, our stories — interpreted through the eyes and hands of artists who live here,” said Scott McCormac, exhibit coordinator. “It’s a celebration of both art and community.”
Artists and collectors are invited to submit work for the exhibition on Sunday, August 3, between the hours of 2 – 6 p.m., at 16 Jones Road, or by appointment. All media are welcome, and submissions should reflect either a direct connection to China, Maine, or be created by an artist who lives in town.
The exhibition is sponsored by the China Historical Society and is free and open to the public.
