Palestine, Albanese and Imperialism - Why is Labor so right wing?

While it was great to see Dutton and the Liberals trashed in the recent federal election, the Albanese Labor government's second term will be at least as conservative as its first.

Labor is complicit in genocide in Gaza; is in lock step with Trump and the AUKUS military alliance: and has imposed administration on the CFMEU to try and stamp out union militancy.

Albanese's first trip abroad in his second term was to Indonesia where he embraced Prabowo as a friend, ignoring the Indonesian students' demonstrations against increasing military control and Indonesian army atrocities in West Papua.

Albanese, however, is not the first Labor government to attack unions and support Australian imperialism. The Hughes Labor government took Australia into the first world war and the scramble for colonies. The Curtin Labor government introduced conscription and aligned Australia with US Imperialism. The Whitlam Labor government cooperated with Indonesia's brutal invasion of East Timor. The Hawke Labor government sent frigates to support the US during the first Gulf War and crushed the militant Builders Labourers' Federation.
