What is Critical Theory & Why Does it Matter?
A conversation with Dr. Carl Trueman of Grove City College and Visiting Professor at the University of Notre Dame's Center for Citizenship and Constitutional Studies
Hosted by Christ Church Anglican of South Bend, Indiana
Nov. 6 - 7:00pm
The event is free and open to the public!
Critical Theory is a school of thought associated with the Frankfurt School, postmodernity, and "Cultural Marxism" which has come to assert an important but often unseen influence on contemporary social and political ideas.
Dr. Trueman has written several essays and books on this topic, especially his 2024 work, To Change All Worlds: Critical Theory from Marx to Marcuse, and his best-selling book, The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self: Cultural Amnesia, Expressive Individualism, and the Road to Sexual Revolution.
In addition to being a gifted scholar and writer, Carl is an engaging and entertaining speaker. We think you will really enjoy this talk!
