Molière’s classic French comedy, The Imaginary Invalid, is about Argan, a man obsessed with his health and convinced he’s always on death’s doorstep, even though he’s perfectly fine. In order to get free medical care for himself, Argan demands that his only daughter, Angelica, marry a doctor. But she’s in love with someone else, and with the help of Toinette, Argan's very clever servant, the two young women hatch a plan to change his mind and, at the same time, expose the selfishness of Angelica's greedy stepmother.
