ABOUT THE TALK:
Many cancer survivors experience changes in memory, attention, and communication—often called “chemo brain” or cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI). These changes can quietly disrupt daily life, relationships, and one's sense of identity, yet they are often misunderstood or overlooked. This presentation highlights findings from recent research on how survivors perceive and cope with these changes, why many don’t seek help, and how communities and healthcare providers can better support recovery and connection.

With over a decade of clinical experience spanning acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, her research focuses on the role of speech-language pathologists in oncology care—especially the experiences of survivors experiencing cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI).
