Explore in a messy, hands on, unforgettable class where kids build the entire rock cycle!
Students will begin with a rock tour, where they can touch, observe, and compare different rocks while learning how igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks form.
This class ties in perfectly with our geology focus for the second half of the session for both our All Ages and Littles weekly nature meet-ups, making it a meaningful and hands on extension of what we are learning.
Kids will crush, press, heat, and melt their way through the entire rock cycle. They will create sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous “rocks” step by step and truly see how Earth is constantly changing.
Each child will leave with their own rock cycle model to take home and show off.
Every part of this class is built around doing, exploring, and experimenting so kids can truly understand how the rock cycle works.
If you came out for Patrick’s class about air pressure and how it is affected by temperature, you already know how exciting his hands on science experiences are. This class takes that same energy and turns it up even more.
