Wildflower Hike & Sketch at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve

Join illustrator and volunteer naturalist Melissa Washburn, along with Programs Coordinator and artist Mari Patis, for a unique approach to getting to know what's blooming at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve!

Learn to identify various spring wildflowers and gain insight into how an artist’s visual sense can help you understand various ways to ID plants. Shape, color, and pattern all help in identification and with how to start painting and drawing flowers and plants.

There will be time for doing some field sketching at the end if you’d like to bring a small sketchbook and your favorite drawing tools (paper and pencils will be provided if you forget!). No experience necessary!

What to Bring: Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. Paper and drawing supplies are encouraged. Bring your own water bottle as there is no potable water at this location.
