Students who successfully completed the 14-weeks Bastion Basic Training Phase and the 1-week Bastion Vasbyt, as well as former members of military and Law Enforcement units who successfully completed the 2-weeks Bastion Orientation Course, are permitted onto the 36-weeks Bastion Spcialist Training Phase.
Where as much the Bastion Basic Training Phase focusses on instilling discipline and the acquisition of Basic Security Skills, the 36-weeks Bastion Specialist Phase focusses on acquiring speclialised security skills.
The training curriculum of the Bastion Specialist Phase includes:

- High-Angle Rescue I
- Basic Parachuting
- Open Water I Scuba Diving
- 15NM Skippers Ticket
- African Bushcraft and Combat Survival
- Tactical Rural Security
- Tactical Urban Security
- Basic Intelligence Course
