Creative Journaling: Curiosity, and the Art of Seeing or How to Grow Enchantment (Summer Week 1)

At the root of all creativity is curiosity. Whatever the art form we practice, however our creativity manifests itself, the more curiosity we exercise, the more our creativity will grow. For many, this curiosity is most easily accessed, this flame most readily fanned, by simply being attentive. Creativity is making connections, with yourself or a great other “universal source”, connections that create new ideas; it is embracing fear and the inner critic; it is staying open-minded. It leads to the enchantment of the soul. Together we’ll explore how we might slow down, soften our gaze and appreciate what’s always been right there in front of us.

In Creative Journaling, a theme is presented, and participants are invited to use words, imagery and a variety of mixed media techniques to unearth, explore and record their unique responses, thoughts and emotions. Participants are united in hope, support and camaraderie as they uncover their inherent creativity. A safe and creative space is born where negativity is banished leaving only room for meaningful connection, self-expression and healing.

Young Adults (19 – 39 years of age) will receive $325 to be applied to registration in one of the Four Weeks of Sorrento Programming in 2025! Register for any program from July 20 – August 16, 2025 to receive this gift.
