"special" AT NITE - Queer Zouk Social

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈

In celebration of queer joy, I’m hosting my very first all-queer Zouk social — and you're invited! This event is for anyone who identifies under the queer umbrella. 🌟

It’s so important for us, as queer dancers, to have spaces where we can be seen, celebrated, and free to be our authentic selves — without censorship or having to shrink who we are.

✨ We’ll kick things off with a somatic awareness and breathwork exercise with Ash that would take ~20 mins to prepare us before any connection or contact improv workshop.

We will then have a Zouk Contact Improv class — an opportunity to connect closely, explore movement, and learn together in a queer-centered space.
(Since we’ll be getting close, let’s be mindful of hygiene — let’s keep it fresh for each other!)

I’m especially excited to host a class like this, because I often feel uncomfortable wondering if a straight man will be okay connecting with me during exercises. This space is designed to remove that worry and let us just dance.

After the class, we’ll continue the celebration with a social — so bring your joy, your style, and your love of dance. Let’s welcome queer dancers from all styles to come dance and have fun with us.

🎉 And if we’re still in party mode afterward, we’ll take the fun to UnderBar, where the queer Brazilian community goes to dance the night away.
