Hi, I’m Robin Lane and I have had a crazy but blessed life. In fact, very crazy, very blessed. Many people met me for the first time on the Neil Young album “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere,” as well as my time in Robin Lane & The Chartbusters in the Eighties.” Our hit single “When Things Go Wrong” was also the 11th video ever shown on MTV in its first hour on air.
During my time in the Chartbusters, I became pregnant. That was at a time when the mostly male dominated music industry struggled to believe that you could have a child and still be able to rock out. I was signed to Warner Bros. Records, and I had a publishing deal and a manager, but when I wanted a break from touring to have my child, that was the end of the line for the Chartbusters.
I think that my life today is like a pentimento…painting over and enhancing what has come before with what I’m doing now.
I’ve lived and taken part in some very important periods of our cultural history along with people who made a significant difference in those times. My life is consistently rewarding, and I continue to write songs.
My current album is Dirt Road to Heaven, released in 2022, which a majority of reviewers and longtime fans consider my masterpiece.
I’ve been told that there are no reviews of Dirt Road that are less than superlative, which is rarely the norm. I’ll take it.

AMERICANA UK.
The latest single from Boston-based veteran singer-songwriter Adam Sherman. “How Hard I Tried” is a heartfelt, aching ballad that showcases Sherman’s delicate, vulnerable voice. On this single he is joined by Robin Lane, who delivers a subtle harmony vocal, combining effectively with Sherman’s emotive performance. Adams wish here, is to form a connection, while realizing desire and perhaps love, isn’t enough in a relationship.
The single appears on a new 4-track EP, “Nowhere But Here”, which is out now. Sherman says of the collection: “These songs are all about finding the strength to persevere and move towards love and kindness, even when there is loss. I would love listeners to feel that joy and sadness will always be present in our lives and that we can learn to embrace both and persevere. Sherman attempts to capture the depth and diverse feelings and experiences that make us human. Take a listen and be absorbed by Sherman’s intimate reflections – there’s hope and joy to be found here.
