Not every public monument can be a masterpiece, and some have faced such overwhelming criticism that they've been removed from our civic landscape forever.

In this engaging presentation, Professor Breen will delve into the lost tales of these derided monuments, exploring their origins and the often contentious paths that led to their removal.

Dan Breen is the Professor of the Practice of Legal Studies at Brandeis University, where he teaches classes on Constitutional Law, the intersections of Law and Science, and the role of legal doctrines in classical texts by Shakespeare and Dante. With a doctorate in American History from Boston College, he is also completing a book on the public monuments of Boston.
