Acoustic Shack with Sam Tunkel, Ronnie & Peter, Greg Amici, +Snake Charmer

Come grab a complimentary hot drink, and spend a cozy afternoon listening to some of the most compelling established and up and coming acoustic artists. Sam Tunkel returns to our Acoustic Shack after captivating us with his Dylanesque charm, thought provoking lyrics, and haunting melodies. Ronnie and Peter return as well and are familiar to the Somerville music scene, regularly performing with the Somerville School of Rock house band including on such famous stages as the Rock and Roll hall of fame in Cleveland, the Hard Rock Cafe in DC and Atlantic City, Underground Arts in Philadelphia, and the Starland Ballroom. Greg Amici With roots firmly planted in Jersey, his creative journey has taken him from the heart of Manhattan to Los Angeles and back again. In the late ’90s, Greg formed Big Honey, a NYC-based band whose rise peaked with an appearance at the CMJ Music Festival but paused indefinitely when a vocal polyp sidelined Greg for years. Despite this setback, he didn’t let his distinctive voice and songwriting abilities go to waste, returning to the studio after a 16-year hiatus to release Tragicomic. Snakecharmer is young but incredibly talented, having recently been recognized by their congressman for one of their original compositions!!! You will not be disappointed as they "charm" their way into your hearts.

What is Rock Shack?

We are a live music venue that encourages creativity, expression, and original music. Our goal is to help give original bands a musician friendly space to strut their stuff in front of a welcoming audience.

Parking:

The Rock Shack does not have its own parking lot. Do not park in the lot immediately behind our building as you may be ticketed or towed. There is street parking and several municipal lots immediately around the school. Municipal lots 1 and 2 are on the right and left side of Davenport St. just half of a block north of our venue. Rates are 50 cents per hour until 7 PM and free after that. You can pay at the Kiosk or via the Park Smarter app, https://www.parksmarter.com/. Street parking is metered and $1/hour until 7 PM, free after that.

Alcohol and drug policy:

We are an alcohol and drug free space. Please do not bring alcohol or drugs to a show or you will be asked to leave. Thank you for respecting our safe space and allowing everyone to thoroughly enjoy the music

Food and Drink:

While we do not serve alcohol, we do sell non-alcoholic drinks and pre-packaged snacks.

Hearing Protection:

Rock shows are LOUD!!! We will attempt to have on site free foam earplugs but please bring ear protection if you have it.

Bring it on!!! Please respect copyrights and give credit to artists as appropriate. Please tag bands, musicians, and the venue if you post on social media! However, if a particular artist asks that you not record, please respect that.
