След задълбочено проучване на съвременната сцена в 12 държави от региона, дискусията 'Creative Balkans: Contemporary Furniture Design' поставя въпроси за ролята на дизайнерите от Югоизточна Европа в глобалния контекст:
⇉ Подценяван ли е техният творчески потенциал?
⇉ Къде са Балканите на картата на международния дизайн?
⇉ Съществува ли обща балканска идентичност в съвременната форма и материалност?
Събитието ще представи и първите изводи от мащабно изследване, което ще бъде публикувано през 2026 г. в книгата Creative Balkans – издание, обединяващо над 50 утвърдени и млади дизайнери, интервюта, анализи и визуални материали от мебелната индустрия в региона.
Дискусията има за цел да постави Балканите на картата на съвременния дизайн – място на идеи, устойчиви практики и авторски почерци, които променят представата за произхода на добрия дизайн.

Discussion 'Creative Balkans: Contemporary Furniture Design'

Publishing house Bismar and the MD platform are opening a space for conversation about the identity, challenges, and potential of Balkan furniture design.
Following an in-depth study of the contemporary scene across 12 countries in the region, the discussion 'Creative Balkans: Contemporary Furniture Design' raises key questions about the role of Southeast European designers in the global context:
⇉ Is their creative potential underestimated?
⇉ Where do the Balkans stand on the map of international design?⇉ Does a shared Balkan identity exist in contemporary form and materiality?
The event will also present the first findings from a large-scale study to be published in 2026 in the book Creative Balkans - a publication bringing together over 50 established and emerging designers, featuring interviews, analyses, and visual materials from the regional furniture industry.
The discussion aims to place the Balkans on the map of contemporary design - as a place of ideas, sustainable practices, and distinctive creative voices that challenge and redefine perceptions of where good design comes from.
