Premiered in late 2023, Drowning Ophelia – the debut project of NDNA – was selected for Balkan Theatre Fest last year and is now headed to the 32nd Sibiu International Theatre Festival this summer.
First stop before Sibiu: Sofia.
Performed through movement, Drowning Ophelia by Rachel Luann Strayer dives into the brutal mechanics of trauma, which bypasses the conscious mind and embeds itself in the nervous system.
We can rewrite memories, numb emotions, fake connections – but the body never lies. The nerves don’t forget. The skin keeps score. Our bodies remember.

След като беше селектиран за Balkan Theatre Fest през 2024 г., “Удавянето на Офелия” - дебютният проект на NDNA с премиера в края на 2023 - се отправя към 32-рото издание на Международния театрален фестивал в Сибиу това лято.

По текст на Рейчъл Луан Стрейър, “Удавянето на Офелия” използва движението като основен изразен език, за да изследва как травмата се отпечатва върху тялото - независимо от съзнанието и отвъд думите.
Можем да пренапишем спомените си, да заглушим чувствата, да симулираме близост – но тялото не лъже. Нервните клетки не забравят. Кожата помни.
