What is DIPTEP?
The Dervish in Progress Teacher Education Program (DIPTEP) is a unique two-year journey developed by world-renowned artist Ziya Azazi. Fusing the wisdom of Sufi tradition with contemporary artistic expression, DIPTEP transforms whirling into a profound tool for personal growth, self-discovery, and teaching mastery. Since its inception in 2018, DIPTEP has empowered participants across the globe to explore their potential and share their journey with others.
Core Data – Year 1: The Foundation of Transformation
Embark on the Core Data program in August 2025 and begin your transformational journey. This first year offers a deep dive into the essential principles of whirling, combining theoretical knowledge with immersive practice to provide a solid foundation. Explore:
• The physics and mechanics of spinning, gaining control and confidence.
• The anatomy of movement, learning to align and balance your body.
• The profound philosophical and historical context of whirling.
• The personal and spiritual journey of self-discovery through practice.
