15:00 – Doors open
15:15 – Presentation (1 hour)
• What’s Chat Control? The EU wants to scan all private chat messages & photos (including on Signal) with AI even before we hit send! We will talk about what it really means, why and how it threatens our freedom, privacy, community & organizing.
• What's end-to-end encryption? Which apps just claim they have it & which actually do. How will that be affected by the integration of Chat Control?
• Which messaging platforms are unsafe? Why most communication methods we use aren’t as secure as we think and don't really protect our privacy (including Discord, FB Messenger & others).
• How to communicate safely online? One of the safest platforms for communication so far is Signal, but with specific settings; and if Chat Control is implemented, the EU will try to ban it for EU users.
16:15 – Workshop (30 min)
• Signal settings: Practical advice and setup to make our chats more secure (self-destructing messages, usernames, safety codes & more).
16:45 – Questions & Answers (1 hour)
• Q&A: Questions will be gathered and answered at the end.
17:45 – Wrap-up, future events & space for free conversations with like-minded comrades.
