From stories of bold leaps and creative breakthroughs to deeply personal journeys of identity and growth, these lived experiences will leave you feeling more connected to the human spirit.
✨ This event is lovingly curated and coached by Alya Howe, founder of Writ Large, known for creating powerful spaces for raw, courageous storytelling throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond.
Join us in community to listen, reflect, and celebrate the power of personal narrative.

Nee Tran Finley Nee and her family moved to the Roaring Fork Valley over 46 years ago from China, by way of Vietnam. Raised in a traditional Chinese home, Nee deeply values the culture and customs of her heritage, maintaining close family ties across China, Canada, and Hong Kong. Though educated in the U.S., she speaks Chinese fluently, with Cantonese as her primary language.Through trials and tribulations with her family, Nee has come to embody the ideals of freedom and the American dream. Her story is a powerful reflection on self-acceptance in the face of judgment—and the freedom to tell it.
Alexander Hobbs is a free spirit doing his best to flow within this incarnation. From raft guiding and skiing, to serving on Carbondale Town Council and working as a Civil Engineer, onto becoming a Massage Therapist and studying Eastern Arts. He feels most free, and in the flow while following his passion of travel and immersing himself in foreign cultures. The most recent adventure was a seven-month stint in Bali to study Chinese Medicine and train in the Alchemical arts. He looks forward to the next chapter with an open heart and curious mind.
Pete Bellande Pete Bellande has shared his stories on stages across Colorado, including for Raconteurs in Denver, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the PlanetV Festival near Telluride. By day, he works as a real estate agent and lives just outside of Carbondale. His story reflects a life lived with honesty, curiosity, and a commitment to bringing personal truth into the light.
Allison Alexander Allison has spent a lifetime following her curiosity. These early experiences shaped her understanding that all things are temporary—and that a fully lived life embraces it all.Her work centers on supporting global changemakers in connecting with radical self-love, empowering their heart-led missions to create a more compassionate world. A Roaring Fork Valley resident since 2019, Allison finds joy on the trails with her standard poodle Zulu, and even more delight when her teenage daughter joins her for a road trip or a fiber arts crafting session. Her story is one of heart, transformation, and wholehearted living.
