Jan has been a member of the The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. Board of Directors serving as the Garden Club of Georgia State Chairman for the Blue Star Memorial and Gold Star Families Marker Program since 2008. She also serves as an Executive Board Member on the Board of Directors for America’s Gold Star Families.
Being a Navy wife, whose husband, Alan, served 21 years in our US Navy, Jan knows the importance of recognizing and remembering those who serve in our US Armed Forces and their families, especially the families whose loved one died while defending our country.
The Blue and Gold Star Marker Program is a passion for Jan, her goal being to have as many Blue and Gold Star Markers as possible sponsored and placed throughout Georgia, to honor, recognize and remember those who serve and their families. Likewise, her passion for America’s Gold Star Families is to serve as an advocate for the families of the fallen, those who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our freedom and to keep America safe.
