EARTH SCIENCE WEEKEND... Facebook LIVE: Rocks Tell a Story, The Geology of the Monroe Lake Area

Every rock formation represents a chapter from an expansive geologic story that stretches back to the creation of the Earth. In the rocks of the Monroe Lake area, a tiny excerpt from that book is revealed to us. We see two chapters of our local geologic story, beginning 355 million years ago. Monroe Lake’s naturalist, Jill Vance, will discuss how and why the rock layers formed the way they did here and share how that geology has impacted us in the modern day.
