Hello hello everyone, I hope you've all had a good trimester break! I know you've all been hanging out for some more activities, so what better way to start off your trimester of nature than by seeing some of our amazing birds?? Our very first birding session for the trimester will be happening this Friday morning, right at JCU.
If you've never done any birdwatching before, this event will be perfect as an introduction to the wonderful world of birds. Equally though, if you're a birding extraordinaire there will still be plenty of opportunities to see some interesting species. Either way, please do come along and join us for a wonderful morning!
We'll be meeting at the uni bus stop at 7.30am, and from there we'll have a bit of a wander around campus to see what birds we can find. We'll be led by our wonderful expert Michael McMaster, so get ready for an excellent morning! Our target species for the morning I reckon will be the wonderful little Lovely Fairywren. We are lucky enough to have a number of them right here on campus!
Please make sure you bring a hat, water, and sunscreen because it's likely to be a bright and sunny morning. If you've got binoculars, please bring them along as well! There'll still be plenty to see if you don't have any though.
As always if you're feeling unwell please don't come, and while we are watching birds we will be maintaining 1.5m distancing. And yes, we are finally affiliated and everything so all JCU students and staff are covered by JCUSA insurance (finally!).
Hope to see you all there, and if you have any questions or queries please don't hesitate to ask! :D
