Hope Takes Flight: Community Butterfly Art-Making
3-5pm Sun. Sep. 7 ~ Highland Brewery
10am-12pm Sat. Sep. 20 ~ Skyland Library
Join us as we come together around the anniversary of Hurricane Helene to honor our community’s journey of healing, resilience, and transformation.
This free family-friendly event invites people of all ages to create butterflies as symbols of hope and renewal. Art-making is designed especially for children ages 3+ and their families, but everyone is welcome—there’s even a play area nearby for the youngest little ones.
We will provide:
• Butterfly cutouts
• Crayons, glue sticks, scissors
• Collage and creative materials
Volunteer child & family psychologists and local artists will be present to guide and support families in this process of healing through creativity.
You are also welcome to bring your own art supplies or meaningful materials to incorporate into your butterfly. Each butterfly can be taken home as a personal keepsake, or gifted to the community project.
Donated butterflies will be displayed in local spaces to honor both the losses we endured after September 2024 and the strength, resilience, and connection we continue to grow together.
✨ Come create, connect, and let hope take flight.
