Joe Sehee is founder and Executive Director of Social Health Australia; a volunteer led charity that recruits, trains and supports volunteer “companions” who provide sub-clinical social-emotional-existential care in a variety of contexts including end-of-life.
A former Jesuit lay minister at the University of San Francisco, Joe also founded and led the Green Burial Council in the US, which established the world’s first eco-standards in deathcare. Joe is currently a doctoral student at Deakin University in the School of Communication and Creative Arts where he is exploring the use of companioning as research practice.
Joe serves as co-editor-in-chief of the recently launched International Journal of Disability Policy and Advocacy. He has featured as a guest on TV and radio, including ABC Australia.
