The Sioux Empire Fair is excited to welcome Diamond Rio to the Billion Automotive Main Stage at the Sioux Empire Fair on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Originating as The Tennessee River Boys in the 80’s, the band evolved into Diamond Rio in 1989. The following year, they signed with Arista Nashville, and in 1991, with the release of “Meet in The Middle,” became the first country music group in history to reach No. 1 with a debut single. The band is also known for their multi-week chart-topper “How Your Love Makes Me Feel,” crossover hit “One More Day,” as well as timeless hits “Beautiful Mess,” “Unbelievable,” “I Believe,” and many more.
Selling more than 6.8 million albums and surpassing over 1.05 billion global streams, Diamond Rio has charted 20 Top 10 singles, 15 Top 5 singles, and seven No. 1 singles. Known for playing every note on every album throughout their career, the band’s unwavering commitment to their craft is evident in their instrumental tracks “Big,” “Appalachian Dream,” and “Poultry Promenade,” all of which received Grammy nominations for Best Country Instrumental Performance. Following their Arista Nashville deal, the band released two albums with Word Records – their Christmas album, The Star Still Shines, and their Dove and Grammy-winning Christian Country album, The Reason.
Amassing numerous accolades throughout the years, the band is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, won six Vocal Group of the Year Awards (four CMA and two ACM), received fourteen Grammy nominations, and won a Grammy Award for their album, The Reason. Known for their charitable commitments, including long-time spokespersons for Big Brothers Big Sisters, the band has raised more than $1 million for non-profits and received the Minnie Pearl Humanitarian Award.
Joining Diamond Rio is South Dakota native Julie Eddy. Julie Eddy’s electric stage presence is bound to leave an impression on anyone who sees her perform. Eddy has made a name for herself by wearing her heart in her lyrics and pairing them with melodies that stand the test of time. After hearing Eddy’s unique sound, influenced by both the rock and country worlds, you will quickly learn that no topic is off limits and find nods to her life and the lives of her loved ones in every song she pens.
Julie started performing at an early age and spent most of her teen years singing for anyone who would listen. Born and raised in a small town in South Dakota, Julie played any venue that would have her across the midwest before landing a shot on bigger stages. Eddy's largest shows to date involve opening for Parker McCollum, Sam Hunt, Justin Moore, Billy Currington, Warren Zeiders, Chase Matthew, Brett Young, Gary Allan, Josh Turner, Morgan Evans, Travis Denning, Niko Moon, Corey Kent, Terri Clark, Phil Vassar, Granger Smith, and Grammy-Award winning duo Dan + Shay.
Eddy made the permanent move to music city in the spring of 2021 and hasn’t slowed down since. She has played countless shows at various widely known venues in Nashville such as The Listening Room Cafe, The Basement, Analog at the Hutton Hotel, The Local, 3rd & Lindsley, Eastside Bowl & several of the most sought-after bars on Broadway.
Eddy’s love for songwriting has not wavered in pursuit of her artist career. Much of her early time in Nashville was spent writing and cultivating her sound alongside the sounds of many of the artists she works with. Songs she helped write for country artist Rachel LaRen have not only accumulated millions of streams, but also been featured on Fox’s “Call Me Kat”, as well as gaining airplay on radio stations across the country.
There’s no sign of Eddy slowing down any time soon. She has kept the momentum full-speed ahead when it comes to her own music, with two EP releases in 2023, multiple single releases in 2024, & her new full length album "playing house" now available on all platforms.
