We need you to pitch in and help us figure out what will nourish us over the next few years! Share your ideas to shape what we, the members and friends of the Northwest Iowa Group of Sierra Club, will do, learn about, and talk about.
Over the next couple weeks, consider what topics or issues you want to know more about, who you want to learn from, what you want to do. Write your ideas down and bring them with you, or send them in advance to
bndpYXNpZXJyYWdyb3VwIHwgZ21haWwgISBjb20=, but we’ll brainstorm together to create a “soup” of ideas, activities, events, issues, programs, speakers, outings, and resources.
We’ll make soup together, too, for the potluck! You may bring something to add to the broth, a side dish, a dessert, or nothing at all. Soup contributions must be cooked and/or ready to be warmed up; suggestions include vegetables, noodles, beans, chicken, sausage, etc.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m., please arrive by 5 p.m. if you’ll contribute to the soup; we’ll start serving at 5 p.m.
“Brainstarter” table conversation will begin around 5:30, and the large group activity will start around 6 p.m.

In case you don’t recall the Stone Soup story:
A stranger came upon a village. The villagers told him there was a famine, not a bite to eat in the whole province, that he should move on. "Oh, on the contrary, I want to make some stone soup to share with all of you."
He filled his cauldron with water and built a fire, then dropped a stone into the water. Curious villagers looked on. The stranger sniffed the broth and licked his lips in anticipation.
"Ahh," the stranger said to himself, "I do like a good stone soup. But some carrots would make it even better." Soon someone approached with carrots and added them to the pot.
"Wonderful!!" he said. "You know, I once had a stone soup with a bit of beef as well, and it was fit for a king." The village butcher appeared with some scraps of beef.
And so it went, through potatoes, cabbage, and so on, until there was indeed a delicious meal for everyone to share.
By working together, with everyone contributing what they can, something great can be created for all to share.
