TRANSFORMATIONS by Olé Khamchanla brings the French choreographer together with dancers from Laos and Singapore to create a work that reflects different artistic and cultural practices into proximity with one another linking the diverse geographical and urban backgrounds of the performers. Created in response to select artworks from City of Others: Asian Artists in Paris, 1920s-1940s, the performance offers an exciting dialogue between dance and visual art, reinterpreting history through motion.

About City of Others
City of Others: Asian Artists in Paris, 1920s-1940s is a groundbreaking exhibition that examines the art history of Paris from Asian perspectives. The exhibition compares the experiences of Asian artists in Paris during a dynamic period of time, featuring works by artists such as Foujita Tsuguharu, Georgette Chen, Lê Phổ, Liu Kang, Pai Un-soung, Itakulla Kanae, Hamanaka Katsu, and more!
About Olé Khamchanla
Originally from Laos, Olé Khamchanla grew up in France and discovered hip-hop dance in 1990. He trained with different dancers and choreographers in hip-hop, capoeira, contemporary, Thai, and Lao traditional dances before to create his first dance company A’CORPS from 1997 to 2010. Since then, through the KHAM company created in 2011, Olé Khamchanla has multiplied international cooperation actions in Asia (residencies, training, creations, transmission), and continues to enrich his choreographic vocabulary and the circulation of cultures and works between France and the Asian region.
