This one’s for those who’ve bottled up their exhaustion because “that’s just what good children do.” This one’s for the caregivers who’ve skipped sleep, opportunities, and parts of themselves to be present for ageing parents or grandparents—only to be left wondering if love is supposed to hurt this much.
In collaboration with Lien Foundation, RICE Media is holding space for caregivers to say the things we can’t at family dinners: that the fear of losing them is gradually making us lose ourselves.
Hosted by RICE Media founders Julian Wong and Mark Tan, this event cuts through the gloss of filial piety to confront what caregiving in Singapore really feels like. Alongside Munah Bagharib—content creator and dementia caregiver—and medical and welfare experts sharing their experiences from Singapore’s caregiving trenches, we’ll explore burnout, guilt, and the uneasy intimacy of caring for those who once cared for us.
