There was a time when glaze knowledge felt like a guarded secret.
When I first started learning ceramics, especially in India, there weren’t many teachers or resources to turn to. Making your own glazes felt like chasing alchemy—mysterious, elusive, and full of trial and error.
But I stayed curious.
Over the years, I experimented whenever I could. I invested in books, devoured articles, and watched endless hours of YouTube videos. Even now—13+ years into pottery and over 5 years of making my own glazes—I still feel like I’m just scratching the surface.
I know the frustration of seeing your carefully made piece ruined because of a bad glaze or a poor application.
And that's exactly why I’ve created this course.
 Introduction to Pottery Glazing Techniques
A hands-on, 2-day course designed for potters who want to understand their glazes better—whether you’re dreaming of mixing your own someday or simply want more control over your finish and firing.
By the end of the course, you’ll:
Understand types of glazes and how they behave
Learn how to make your own glaze
Learn how to apply glazes using brushing, dipping, and pouring
Troubleshoot common issues like drips, pinholes, or cloudy finishes
Get confident about kiln behavior and firing temps
Take home your own glazed pieces
Bonus: Play with decorative techniques like wax resist, sgraffito, and underglazing
I’m keeping this intimate—just 5 spots—so each participant gets individual attention.
 July 19 & 26 (2 Saturdays)
 Klay Kathaa Ceramics Studio, Singapore
