Sourdough Bread Workshop

Welcome to the art of sourdough baking with Helen from Honey Bear Breads! Helen is a local Simsbury resident who is a cottage home baker, and obsessed with sourdough. In this class, you will learn the basics of making sourdough bread including:

-How to care for and maintain your sourdough starter
-The unique fermentation process and health benefits of sourdough bread.
-Basic kneading, shaping and scoring techniques.
-How to bake your first artisan loaf.

Helen will be there to provide hands-on experience and students will actively participate in making their first loaf during our class. No previous experience required! This is a great class for beginners, or those who want more of a hands on teaching experience.

Each participant will leave with their own sourdough starter, a loaf to take home to bake, and my “beginners sourdough guide”.
