ABEL Enterprises is excited to announce that they are upping the ante for this year's Duck Race at the Simcoe Heritage Friendship Festival.
This fan favourite is a staple at the annual local event, with participants purchasing a numbered ticket to take part in the fun at 2 pm on Monday, August 4th in Clifton Park, which sees tubs of numbered rubber duckies released into the Lynn River by the windmill, where they race to the finish line at the bridge on Norfolk Street.
New this year, ABEL Enterprises has added 250 tickets (for a total of 750 tickets), and has also added additional prizes to be won.
The ticket holder with the same number as the first duck to the finish line will win $500, 2nd place will take home $300, and 3rd place will receive $200, while 4th place wins $100 and 5th place $50.
You do not have to be present to win; however, it is recommended to join the crowds that gather every year to watch this tradition and root for the duckies.
The winner will be announced at 3 pm at the Main Stage in Wellington Park.
Tickets are $5 each (cash only), and can be purchased by visiting ABEL Enterprises at 447 Queensway West in Simcoe, by finding them at local events or their Monday Night Bingos, or at the ABEL Enterprises Duck Race Booth at the Simcoe Heritage Friendship Festival all weekend leading up to the race.
