Juels Bland and Babel Baby Live at the Shipyard!
Join us under the stars and carnival lights of the Shipyard with blues folk artist Juels Bland & electro-acoustic "slop pop" duo Babel Baby!
Juels Bland is a Singer/Songwriter/Person. His music is a sort of jambalaya of Rock, Blues, Folk, Pop and Whimsy. The songs are mostly bummers, but they sound pretty so you may not notice. Some people like him. Well, his grandmother likes him. Allegedly.
Babel Baby is an electro-acoustic duo and self-proclaimed inventors of “slop pop.” Blending cello and banjo riffs run through an army of pedals with ethereal vocals, Babel Baby sounds like if a sad robot sang its journal entries.
The Shipyard is a popup venue in Silver Spring with a donation door. Donations are split between the artists and Abodes Joy a MD-based nonprofit that trains and empowers diverse learners – women, nonbinary folx, and transgender people – in home repair to build skills, confidence, and community.
