2025 Downtown Silver Spring Chalk Fest

Welcome to the 2025 Downtown Silver Spring Chalk Fest!

For the third year, the Downtown Silver Spring Chalk Fest is returning to Ellsworth Drive! Enjoy strolling, scooting or wheeling down Ellsworth Dr. as it’s transformed into an immersive chalk art gallery for the community to enjoy! Dozens of amateur, emerging and professional artists will create mini-masterpieces throughout the day. This event is free to attend and perfect for all ages!

Once again, Downtown Silver Spring has partnered with Chalk Riot to fill Ellsworth Drive with creativity, color and fun. Ellsworth Drive is a pedestrian plaza located between Fenton St and Georgia Avenue. Come be a part of the action, and don't forget to explore all the retail and dining options Downtown Silver Spring has to offer.

Get ready to see the pavement come alive with vibrant colors and amazing artwork, you'll be amazed by the talent on display. There are two ways to get involved! Everyone can contribute to our community chalk zone, where a collection of small masterpieces come together to fill the street. Looking to create your own artwork? Register HERE for your own pavement gallery space (availability is limited and fills quickly). The fee to reserve your pavement gallery space will go toward local art organizations. Your reservation also secures you a space at an optional chalk art training with Chalk Riot, prior to the date of the event.

Please note that general registration for this event does NOT secure you a chalk artist gallery space, and you must register separately using THIS FORM.
