Zouk Cabin Up North is a small community zouk camping weekend with access to professional Brazilian Zouk artists and social dancing. No tents! We've reserved rustic cabins at Tettegouche State Park. These 4 cabins are isolated from the rest of the campgrounds and the park. It's an adventure though, and you will need to hike or mountain bike into the camp 1.6 miles on a wide gravel compacted trail. We are limiting the attendance to 20 people at the cabins, with an additional up to 10 people who can hike in from other lodging options (max 30 people). This will be an exclusive opportunity to culminate experiences with your fellow dancers and Bruno and Fae! Conveniently, the camp includes a lodge with a beautiful polished wood open dance floor!
We are asking everyone to be familiar with level 2 criteria through Amozouk's (of Minneapolis, MN) curriculum. That includes the following: basic step, lateral, lunge with simple turn, viradinha, soltinho, yo-yo, and bonus.
Yes there are showers and electricity! Even a rustic kitchen in each cabin. Zouk Cabin Up North offers our Zouk community an opportunity to connect, dance, recreate, hike, canoe and sit around the campfire with each other in the northern Minnesota wilderness.
If you're not familiar with Bruno and Fae, they have brought Brazilian Zouk to many communities over the years through their teachings, and they continue to win jack and jill competitions, and even world champions in teams division just last year! I recently connected with them at another event, and they really are amazing human beings with precision in their craft. They get straight to the juicy part of the dance we call zouk, and are super efficient in the way they transfer information into your brain and body! Here's just one demo from last year that I love:
