3rd December is observed globally as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). To commemorate this significant day, we are organising an Experience-Based Exposure Visit for children with disabilities at Cosmos Mall, Siliguri, starting from 12 PM onwards.
The purpose of this initiative is to provide children with disabilities an opportunity to meaningfully experience and understand the real-world environment of a shopping mall. This will be a 2–3-hour event, and the visit will include guided mall orientation, window shopping, and interactive engagement with various sections of the mall. These activities are designed to enhance their sensory adaptation, confidence, and social interaction skills.
Other than the exposure visit, we will conduct a small sensitisation session aimed at promoting respectful behaviour, awareness, and positive attitudes toward persons with disabilities among the public present at the mall and the mall staff.
Also, the children will present short dance performances, showcasing their talents and reinforcing the message that every individual, regardless of disability, has unique abilities and potential.
