Join us for a conversation with Jean-Baptiste Phou, author of Coming Out of My Skin (La Peau hors du placard), as he shares the story behind his powerful autobiographical book exploring identity, sexuality, and ethnicity from the perspective of a Cambodian-Chinese gay man born in France.
This event will explore the writing process and the adaptation of the book into a stage performance in Khmer. Jean-Baptiste Phou will speak about the origins of the text and the themes that shaped it. Actor Heng Seyhassneth, who performs the solo piece, will also be present to share his perspective on bringing the story to the stage. The conversation will be followed by a book signing session (French edition).
This talk takes place ahead of the performance Coming Out of My Skin, to be held at Phare Circus Siem Reap on Sunday, June 22 at 2:00pm. (See dedicated event for more information:

Rejoignez-nous pour une rencontre avec Jean-Baptiste Phou, auteur de La Peau hors du placard (Coming Out of My Skin), qui partagera l’histoire de son livre autobiographique puissant explorant les questions d'identité, de sexualité et d’ethnicité à travers le regard d’un homme gay cambodgien-chinois né en France.
Cette conférence abordera le processus d’écriture ainsiqu que l’adaptation du livre à la scène en khmer. Jean-Baptiste Phou évoquera la genèse du texte et les thématiques qui l’ont inspiré. L’acteur Heng Seyhassneth, interprète de la pièce en solo, sera également présent pour partager son expérience du travail scénique. La discussion sera suivie d’une séance de dédicace (édition française).
Cette rencontre précède la représentation théâtrale de Coming Out of My Skin, qui aura lieu au Phare Circus Siem Reap le dimanche 22 juin à 14h (voir l’événement dédié pour plus d’informations :
